The installation guideline for compressed packing
The preparation for installing:
 

The key step is to get rid of the used fillings and preparation of installation.
The first is to remove the used filling.
The second is to check the damaged surface. The broken valve stem, shaft sleeve and the filling box which all can affect the property of the packing.
The third is to check that whether the other components can be uses now, and to remove all broken components.

   
Choose the correct Gland Packing
 

When you are choosing the Gland Packing, you must consider two things.
The requirement of working situation needs to coincide with the property of packing. You can choose the coincident packing according to the relative technical data. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact with sales representative.
It is important to choose the correct size of packing according to the size of sealing surface. In order to confirm the cross section, please use the following formula to calculate: cross section= (diameter of the filling box -the diameter of valve stem)/2.
If there is the damaged device, it needs the packing with much larger cross section to remedy the damage. If any problems, please feel free to consult Tiansheng.

   

The methods of cutting and installation of Gland Packing

 
 

First, please cut the Gland Packing into proper ring type length. Don’t try to confirm the length by enlace the case with the packing. You should enlace the packing at the cannulation which have the same O.D. with valve stem, you must hold it down tightly, but pls don’t draw the packing. Then you can cut the packing into the ring type, at the same time, you should check that if it can fill the space correctly, also you should assure that the joint has no interspace. Then you can let the ring type as a samples to cut the other fillings. If these finished products are finished at the plane, if the packing is soft and easy to distortion, you can make a small belt according to the samples, then according to the belt to make the balanced fillings.
Install the ring filling in one time, make sure that there is no dust and fragment on every tube. If need, the ring fillings should be lubricate which is the same lube at the valve stem.
To make the every tube 90°by interlaced installing. Using the professional tool to fasten every ring filling. When enough ring fillings are finished, use the movable parts to make the ring fillings closed. Use the movable parts can make it tighter. Please remember that the movable parts are only as a supplement, it can assure the right place of all fillings, and to avoid the packing to move.
Tweak the bolt after install the ring fillings, please note that if the settings in the unleak state, maybe that will cause the packing burn, so my suggestion is that tweak the bolt slowly, when the data for leak is in the scope of the permissibility.

The key step when the pump begin to start is to make sure that if it begin to leak, if at the beginning, you made the packing in the status on unleak, that will be burning the fillings and made it leak.
Tweak the bolt after install the ring fillings, and to confirm the correct joint between the cover of and the case. If you begin to tighten the bolt, please make sure every bolt have the equal power.
If using the outer lubricating system, you should check that if it can work normally before start it.
If start allows the high leakage, during this time, packing begins to operate.  
After working for 15 minutes to 30minutes, please retighten the bolt into the scope that allowed, our suggestion is that 8-10 point per minute. The filling of PTFE should allow the more runoff to emit the heat that can reduce the thermal dilation.

   
Valves activated
 

In most cases, the design for valve should be have zero leakage. In order to achieve this requirement, we must give the fillings the strongest power that according to the pressure of the valve.
